Shougi - MAME - Board Game / Strategy

"Shougi" is a classic Japanese strategy game, also known as Japanese chess. Two players compete against each other, with each player controlling an army of tiles. The aim of the game is to capture the opponent's king, similar to chess. The pieces move on a square board with nine lines horizontally and nine lines vertically. The pieces in "Shougi" have different movement patterns and abilities, similar to chess. The most important pieces are the king, the general, the bishops, the knights and the pawns. Each token has its own specific rules for movement and attack. The game requires both tactical thinking and strategic planning. Players must cleverly position their pieces to initiate attacks while protecting their own units. The opposing king must be surrounded and threatened to win the game.
