Captain Knick-Knack - Gameboy Color - Adventure, Puzzle

Captain Knick Knack is a vertical Shoot'em up. It's a port of the eponymous game on Mega Duck. It's clear the developer put a lot of effort into the game's visual design. Essentially, it's a Twinbee homage; "clone" would be the wrong word, because while it strongly evokes classic vertical scrolling, it has enough charm and individual ideas to give the developer a bit more credit. The player assumes the role of the namesake Captain, a turtle (as per the box art).
