Star Avenger (UK) (1984) - Amstrad CPC - Action

Star Avenger is a variant of the arcade game Scramble . You control a spaceship travelling across a horizontally scrolling landscape littered with obstacles of various types including missiles, planes, bats and force-fields. In some areas, the ceiling and floor topography also means careful piloting is needed to avoid a crash. Your aim is to make it past everything without hitting anything. Points can be earned by shooting some of the opponents. You have an energy gauge, which starts full but is depleted at a constant rate. Running out of fuel will lose a life, but shooting fuel tanks will replenish some of the lost energy. There is only one big level which repeats once you reach and destroy a reactor at the end. However you can start the game at any of a number of checkpoints. There is also a difficulty setting which may be selected (from 1-5) and affects the speed of the game.
