Map Rally (UK) (1984) - Amstrad CPC - Action

Map Rally is an orientation and compass learning game. On a displayed grid, 3 control points are hidden. The browser can only give approximate directions about them. The car travels on this grid using instructions which show it the path. When a checkpoint has been found, the driver must register. You can play against the clock or compete against another player. Children quickly get used to using coordinates and using the compass to control their cars. The time taken and number of steps taken are recorded. At the end of the rally, players can see the progress of their route to visualize their routes.
